Today, Just Indie Art is featuring the latest EP by artist cmon3tta. After releasing stunning EPs in this year, the artist is back with another power-packed, five-track release that showcases a distinctly different artistic domain.
It begins with a live version of Becuz of You, which features subdued vocals and minimal instrumentation via banjolele that captivates the listener. The lyricism is simple, raw, yet meaningful. While the arrangement is conventional, cmon3tta’s voice makes it an enriching experience.
The second track features artist Kyjee and is a SoJPNZ Mix. This version brings a peppy vibe and sensational arrangement, taking the EP in a bold new direction. The beats are riveting, with an upbeat tonality. The layered synths create mesmerizing tones that vibrate and open a deeper, almost psychedelic portal. The outro is a splendid amalgamation of sounds converging into an exciting tonal response. This is surely a foot-tapping number on the EP.
The third track, titled Lighters In The Air Mix, features artist Crosswalk Corp. From the very first notes, a ballad-like vibe takes over—like a time-travel ship transporting the listener to a bygone era. Soft rock elements are layered in, particularly through the vocals and guitar work. Emotion runs high in this version, making it the most heartfelt track on the EP. It’s the perfect candidate for a music video that reminds one of a long-lost love. The outro is phenomenal, with rhythms and guitars blending beautifully to evoke deep feeling.
The fourth version, heart2heart Mix, features Seasen—and it’s our favorite! This track transports the listener into an entirely different realm. Its tonality stands out from the rest of the EP. The mellow vocals are filled with emotion and pull at the heartstrings, guiding listeners into a rarely explored emotional zone. Deep, hidden adoration is palpable here, showcasing the artist’s true craftsmanship. This single track blends multiple genres, each creating a distinct and memorable vibe. The instrumentation is powerful yet soft, with piano accompanying the vocals and adding a surreal texture to the overall sound.
The final version, Porchfiesta Mix, features artist Carina Ohare. This track evokes a dramatically different mood compared to the previous one. A folk vibe dominates, highlighting the singer-songwriter side of cmon3tta. The free-flowing arrangement evokes a sense of freedom—like the wings of a bird, the song lifts the listener into a realm of love, joy, and unity.
Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with this EP. The artist has created a multi-dimensional—or perhaps we should say, multi-genre—release that offers something for everyone. A variety of musical experiences and tastes are seamlessly catered to in one fascinating package. About the EP: Artist cmon3tta received a banjolele as a gift from his spouse, handcrafted by esteemed Luthier Barry Sholder. “Becuz of You” is the first song cmon3tta wrote on the instrument. Created in celebration of their second wedding anniversary, the song serves as a heartfelt love letter and expression of appreciation. In true cmon3tta fashion, the EP features collaborations with other musicians across various mixes of the song, though the original version, “Becuz of You (Live),” opens the project as track #1.
